Sirsasana, or headstand, is known as the king of all asanas. It affects every system of the body: improving concentration and awareness, headstand is good for the heart, increases blood flow to the brain, and creates mental clarity and calm.
In this two-hour workshop with Heather, we will warm up the body with a flow series followed by a discussion on the correct form and preparation for headstand to prevent injury. We will look carefully at both Sirsasana A, and B (tripod), and explore how to best incorporate them into your practice, along with some different variations and methods for getting up and down safely and effectively. If you have been curious about headstands but unsure of how, when and where to practice them this workshop will help you fill some of those processional gaps.
This workshop is open to beginners as well as anyone who wishes to improve their headstand practice.
