To our beloved Shala Community,

As many of you know, the Provincial Health Officer released new regulations for yoga studios on December 14, 2020 with strict protocols that must be followed in order to reopen during this phase of the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the structure, size and layout of the studio, we have determined that Shala Yoga will not be able to operate sustainably while the regulations are in place.

The health and safety of our community will always be our highest priority and this very difficult decision has been made with that in mind.

Please understand we are unable to offer any refunds at this time. Of the 14 months our family has owned Shala Yoga, we have only been open at full capacity for 4 of those months. The rest of the time, we have been completely closed or operating at a significantly reduced capacity due to COVID-19 restrictions. It’s been a fight to hold the space to date, and as many of you know, hundreds of thousands of Canadian small businesses (including 2 of our local yoga studios) have been forced to permanently shut their doors because of the inherent challenges in trying to pay fixed costs such as rent while closed or operating at a significant loss.

We are going to do our very best to try to hold the space as long as we can and will be exploring creative models through which we may reopen our doors one day to continue to offer the community transformative experiences through yoga.

We thank you for your patience, support and understanding. Please know that we are sending much love and light to you all.
